2) Unzip the file, and open the program.
Tip: If the server you’re gathering data from, for security reasons have limited internet access, you can use SQL PerformanceDoctor
from a USB, and upload it from another PC!
3) Login in the top left corner.
4) Fill out computername, SQL server name, and if the SQL instans is named, this is required as well.
Info: If the SQL server is a clustered instance, both computername and SQL server name has to be the clustername.
Tip: If the Browser Service is enabled on the instance, you can simply press Discover!
(You can view the status of the Browser Service in the SQL Server Configuration Manager)
5) Press ”Check Connectivity”, which runs a test on the server to assure you have the appropriate permissions.
Info: Local administrator on the server and sysadmin on the SQL instance is required.
6) After the ”logging” section output reports ok to both connectivity tests, you can continue by pressing ”Start Inventory”, which starts
the data gathering.
Tip: You can change the desired intervals for the gathering in ”Settings” in the bottom part.
7) When ”Inventory done………..” is outputted in the ”logging” section, please continue by pressing ”Sync Data”.
Info: If errors occur during the gathering, the report can still be uploaded, but may be incomplete.
Should it occur, please upload the report, and contact SQL PerformanceDoctor support.
8) In this window you configure the desired language, report type you wish for the initial report, as well as from which payment method
you wish to use for the data upload.
9) Upload the data by pressing the ”Sync Gatherings” button, after which you will shortly recieve the desired report on your registered e-mail.
